Princess Manuel, LCSW

During our sessions, I take a holistic and compassionate approach in supporting you as you process your life circumstances and work toward achieving your therapy goals. As a trauma-informed therapist, I specialize in supporting people to heal through generational and present-day traumas, and am especially invested in holding space for all of the symptoms that may emerge as a result including feelings of shame, anger, depression, resistance and anxiety. Together, we will address unhealthy patterns and limiting beliefs that keep you from thriving and being your best self.

My goal as a practitioner is to create an approach that is uniquely suited to your healing journey, so that we can work together in a way that is gentle, building toward transformation and supporting you through any grief that may arise in the process. I utilize a social justice, decolonization, and feminist framework to support in processing what has happened to you.  Some modalities I will blend include narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic healing, psychodynamic approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based practice and indigenous frameworks of connecting with nature and all our relations.

I gravitated to Sixth Street Wellness because it embodies the principles of “humility”, “abundance” and “rootedness” that are so personal to me. I do a lot of work around intergenerational traumas, so the value “rooted” is one that resonates deeply with me—I believe that understanding where we come from and how it is a lens through which we see the world is critical to finding our individual sense of security and opportunity.  As a holistic healing arts practitioner and blending mind, body and spirit healing, I believe “abundance” depicts the natural world we live in, however, oppression has made us internalize a scarcity mindset and forget our truths of living in this abundant world.  “Humility” is important as it allows us to come from a place of reverence for one another and respecting our sovereignty.  I incorporate these values as I hold space for you.

In addition to my work as a therapist, I am also a spiritual herbalist, life coach, small business owner, martial artist and have been a community organizer for 15+ years. This wide array of knowledge in different fields helps me to support you in addressing issues related to interpersonal relationships, self-transformation, developing your unique craft/work in the world, political organizing, and embodiment practices.
